When a Netwrix Password Manager client is installed on a user’s computer, the user is prompted to register. After registration, there is a prompt to enter a username and password to connect to the gina_set_answers_anonymous.asp.

The Enrollment Wizard uses automatic Windows authentication. If automatic Windows authentication fails, you are prompted for credentials.

This authentication works if all following conditions are true:

  1. The URL of  the Netwrix Password Manager server is added to Local Intranet zone
  2. The machine where the Netwrix Password Manager client is installed is a member of the domain
  3. The server URL specified for the client in the registry is the FQDN  server name

NOTE: If Netwrix Password Manager is installed in a DMZ, Enrollment Wizard is expected to prompt for credentials. If Enrollment Wizard in a DMZ scenario uses automatic windows authentication and does not prompt for credentials, the IIS service account gets enrolled instead of the correct account. This happens due to the specificity of Windows authentication and IIS configuration.

NOTE. Please note that this can be removed only in case of single-server installation

To resolve the issue make sure that all 3 conditions listed above are met and configure authentication properly.

Please refer to this article for detailed instructions on how to set authentication for the specified files.
